Emu_kidid, Ashen and Zenloc, together with the rest of the gc-forever.com community, has managed to get Wiikey Fusion to work with Gamecube!

They have made a nice YouTube video showing Wiikey Fusion in action on Gamecube. So after 6 years there is finally a successor to our legacy products Qoob Lite, Qoob Pro, and Xeno GC!

The history of Xeno GC @ eurasia.nu

Eurasia.nu has posted an interesting article about one of our legacy
products, Xeno GC. You can read the full story here.

XenoGC source code released

Our friends over at www.gc-forever.com has recently published the source
code for one of our legacy products, Xeno GC. This chip went out of
production in 2008, and it makes us very happy to see that it still has
a strong following!

Wiikey Fusion 1.4 Update Released!

Today we have released Wiikey Fusion update v1.4 which partially fixes an issue that causes the Mii/Photo channel to crash on some Wiis when no SD card is present. With this update, all Wiis should now work as long as SD card or DVD is present. This will be completely resolved in the upcoming 1.5 firmware update. Various other minor bugfixes and improvements have been included in this release and we recommend that everyone upgrades. It can be downloaded from the members area.

FAQ page added

To answer somwe of the more common technical support questions about Wiikey products (Wiikey 1, Wiikey 2 and Wiikey Fusion) we have added a Frequently Asked Questions section to the website.

Updates galore! Wiikey Fusion 1.3 and WBFS Manager 4.0 now available!

Good news for those of you who have emailed us asking about GC support on SD card in Wiikey Fusion! The popular WBFS Manager application has now been updated to version 4.0 and includes full support for adding GC images to SD cards formatted with the WBFS filesystem. Because of the way it does this, a minor update to Wiikey Fusion has also been necessary. You can download both the new WBFS Manager and the Wiikey Fusion v1.3 update in the members area.

Wiikey Outreach Project - May-June Update!

Our photographer has just come back from Cambodia with the latest photos from the Wiikey Outreach Project. For those of your unfamiair with the project, work was started to rennovate and repair Classroom block A of Anuwitayalai Prey Srolit School in Cambodia back in January. There have been a number of delays along the way, but all have been overcome and we are all very proud of the progress made so far. All of this was done by using a portion of the proceeds from Wiikey sales in 2009.

Wiikey Fusion v1.2 Recovery Image released

To help users who have had a bad flash while upgrading their Wiikey Fusion (ie: if the power went out in the middle of updating) we have made a Recovery Image available in the members area.

This update provides the same firmware update as the regular Wiikey Fusion Update v1.2 released on 8th June, but it runs in recovery mode. Use this only if you are unable to apply the regular v1.2 update. Be sure to read the readme.txt instructions carefully before installing, as it requires more steps than a regular Wiikey Fusion update.

New Wiikey Fusion installation guide online

Following requests from users for a more detailed and easy-to-follow installation guide for Wiikey Fusion, we have updated the support page with a nice graphical guide. Let the Wiikey Penguin mascot point you in the right direction!

Wiikey Fusion update 1.2 released!

Hot on the heels of the 1.1 update last week, we have just released v1.2 of the Wiikey Fusion code. This update fixes a few bugs that some users have been experiencing: namely a bug causing some DVDs not to eject when the eject button is pressed and another bug causing the flash update to fail/freeze is the SW3 dip switch is accidentally in the OFF position. This update also makes some improvements to the alignment of the selection menu cursor. You can download this update from the members area.

Wrong cables sent out by some resellers causing SD reader problem on Fusion

We have been made aware of an issue affecting some people who have received an incorrect cable from their Wiikey Fusion reseller. The problem cables make it impossible to power-on the Wii when the SD reader is connected.

Upon investigation, it looks as though this has been caused by some resellers mistakenly sending out a DriveKey JTAG cable with Wiikey Fusion instead of a Wiikey Fusion SD cable.

If you think you may be affected, just lay your cable out flat and look at the ends. If the silver contacts are on the same side of the flat cable at both ends, then you have the wrong cable. Please contact the place you bought your Wiikey Fusion from and they will be able to provide you with a new cable.

If your Wii powers on when the SD card reader is connected, then you are NOT affected by this problem and you do not need to take any action!

Wiikey Fusion update 1.1 released!

In response to feedback from users of the new Wiikey Fusion chip, we have released an update. This update can be applied by SD card, without the need of an external programming device.

The update can be found in the members area. You will need to register your Wiikey Fusion serial number in order to download this update. This helps us to be sure that we are only giving support to our own loyal customers in case any counterfeit Wiikey Fusion chips ever appear in the future.

This update, Version 1.1 of the Wiikey fusion code fixes one bug causing DVD games to loop back to the system menu before starting, and another bug whereby SD cards are not properly detected and the last game played from DVD show up in disc channel instead of the Wiikey Fusion menu.

Thank you, once again, to everyone who has taken the time to email us about bugs. If you notice any other issues with your new Wiikey Fusion chip, just send us a message and our development team will investigate right away!

Wiikey Fusion confirmed compatible with D4 drives

We have received a number of positive reports from users with the new D4 drives that Wiikey Fusion is working perfectly! Thanks to Xavbox for testing Wiikey Fusion on D4 and making a video about it, too!

Wiikey Fusion - initial feedback received!

As the first orders of Wiikey Fusion made their way to end users this week, we have been encouraged to receive lots of positive feedback on the performance of this new chip. We're glad to hear that you're enjoying it so much, and it really means a lot when people take the time to email us and tell us this!

As well as all of the positive feedback, we have also received reports of a few small bugs relating to some DVD and SD functions. We are currently working on these and hope to have an update available within a few days. As promised, updates for Wiikey Fusion will be made available as downloads which can be copied onto SD card, with no additional hardware required to apply the update.

Wiikey 1 update v1.99 BETA available!

A beta release for the original Wiikey 1 modchip is now available in the members area. This update fixes the 3X DVD issue and adds NSMB BCA support. Please be sure to read the readme.txt file contained within the archive and please send feedback to us about how well it works so that we can hurry and make the final release available.

As a Wiikey 1 user, you can now confidently brag to your friends by saying that you own the single longest-supported Wii modchip in the world! Released back in 2007, the original Wiikey 1 modchip is still receiving updates and is fully compatible with the latest copy protection systems. All other Wii modchips from the same era have died and been forgotten, but Wiikey 1 lives on! Thank you for your support in making this happen.

Wiikey Fusion Shipping This Week!

After an admittedly long delay, Wiikey Fusion will begin shipping this week, so our distributors will begin to receive stock as of early next week. Please be patient when dealing with your point of sale -- Wiikey Fusion sales have been astronomically high, so each distributor will have a lot of backorders to deal with.

The Wiikey Fusion card will be supplied with a sleek case, which can be seen on the front page of wiikey.cn

The main reason for the delay in releasing Wiikey Fusion has been due to the perfecting of some great additional features, most notably WBFS and the "softcore" system. Having a softcore means that the only part of the chip that could ever possibly need a JTAG update is a very small portion of initial FPGA code. Everything else (the majority of the code) is in the softcore, which can be updated by SD card.

We'd like to thank everyone for their patience and support while Wiikey Fusion was perfected. We hope that you will enjoy it!

WBFS Support Confirmed for Wiikey Fusion

Following requests from end users and distributors, we are pleased to confirm that WBFS support will be included in Wiikey Fusion.

WBFS is a file system especially developed for storing Wii backups which compresses the games to a smaller size, meaning that several games can be stored on one SD card.

This will be done with the existing Wiikey Fusion hardware that has already been developed. We are very happy with this acheivement and will make a further announcement about the final release date in due course.

Final hardware image released

The more observant visitors to the Wiikey site will probably have noticed that we have just updated the image of Wiikey Fusion on the large graphic at the top of the homepage. This new image represents the final hardware revision of Wiikey Fusion which has now gone into mass production.

Wiikey Fusion Final Beta Testing in Progress

On Friday evening, beta samples of Wiikey Fusion were sent out to all of our distributors. Assuming that no major issues are reported over the next week, the launch of Wiikey Fusion will be happening very soon!

Wiikey Fusion Feature List Released

The feature list for Wiikey Fusion has now been updated in the Wiikey Fusion section. Samples will shortly be sent out to our distributors for testing in preparation for the upcoming launch.

Wiikey Fusion Progress Update

Wiikey Fusion, as many will know, has been the buzz of the Wii modding community for several months now. This revolutionary new way to mod a Wii to enable backups to be played from SD card has caused a lot of excitement and anticipation. At the same time, a lot of people have emailed us to voice their frustration over how long its taking.

When we first announced Wiikey Fusion back in September 2009, we did not think that it would take quite this long to launch. Initially, we had October 2009 as a preliminary launch date. However, introduction of a new protections in the form of a previously unused DI command (BCA read) in a recently released game forced us to reconsider the Wiikey Fusion architecture. While implementing BCA read emulation is quite straightforward there are several other Wii/Gamecube specific commands that potentially could be used in future protections.

As a result of what we discovered, we basically scrapped 4 months work and set about creating a brand new architecture which supports reading game-specific DI command handlers from games on DVD and SD card.

We're pleased to announce that this work is nearing completion, and that we're looking to begin shipments of Wiikey Fusion during January.

We'd like to thank everyone who gave us their support and trust from day one with this product. Without you, Wiikey Fusion would not have become a reality.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year 2010!

To celebrate the end of 2009 and the beginning of 2010, we have chosen to donate the money that we would usually have used to a charitable project. This doesn't mean sending a quick wire transfer to Unicef, though. The project was independently identified and commissioned by members of the team and the progress, including exactly how the money is being used, is being closely monitored. If you have purchased a Wiikey product this year, you have helped to make this project a reality! See the project page for more details!

Wiikey 2 firmware v1.3 released - NSMB now working!

After a solid week of beta testing (thanks to our distributors and Xavbox) we are pleased to announce the release of v1.3 ('Odyssey') of the Wiikey 2 firmware. This is a DVD update which can be downloaded and applied immediately. This fix includes a hardcoded BCA for NSMB which will allow owners of original copies of this game to play their backups without any issues. There is no need to apply a patch to the .iso.

Wiikey Fusion Announced!

The Wiikey Team is pleased to announce Wiikey Fusion, a revolutionary new modchip with SD card capabilities. The release date is planned for sometime during October. Further details will be announced as they become available. In the meantime, please check out the video!

Wiikey 2 stocks now fully replenished!

After a long and uneasy period whereby Lattice chips (the main component in Wiikey 2) were difficult to get hold of, we are pleased to say that we are now on top of the situation and that stock levels have returned to normal. Most of our official distributors have placed new orders already, so you should not find any resellers out of stock of Wiikey 2 anymore!

Wiikey Soldering Contest Winners Announced!

The Wiikey Soldering Contest has now come to a close. The winners are: 1) Miki 2) Maitre Kanter 3) Stefoulefou 4) Bonx 5) eXraZ. All of these people have won fabulous prizes supplied by the Wiikey Team, Xavbox and Arcalide. Details of the winning entries can be viewed in English and en français on the Xavbox website. Please note that this competition is intended to be a fun event. Users installing a Wiikey for serious use should refer to the installation guide and follow all recommended best practices (all wires should be as short as possible, use a thick ground wire etc)!

Update v1.2 Released - Update Blocker Feature Added!

An Update Blocker feature has now been added to Wiikey 2 and is available as a DVD update in the resources section. By default, this new feature will block harmful other-region updates to your Wii, that are included in some games, but allow own-region updates. There is also a config option to block all updates regardless of region. Many thanks to the exhaustive testing provided by ModSupplier, OzModChips and Xavbox!

Wiikey 2 can now been installed with 6 wires

After a thorough testing phase, we are pleased to confirm that Wiikey 2 can now be installed with just 6 wires on D2C, D2C-2 and D2E. This applies to all Wiikey 2 chips with a yellow serial number sticker on the back. Chips with a white serial number sticker should be installed using 9 wires. The installation guide in the resources section has been updated to reflect this.

Please note that there are no other differences between the white-sticker and yellow-sticker chips. Both are Wiikey v2.0. Only the wire-count has been changed for the chips with the yellow sticker. DMS, D2B and D2B should still be installed with 5 wires.
